THE CITY M AIR PURIFIER CAN BE A GAME CHANGER FOR INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Company profile
Hørbart, based in Vejle in Denmark, is a hearing center with experienced hearing specialists who provide customers with independent advice, hearing measurements and guidance based on patient‘s individual needs.
Camfil contacted one of Hørbart‘s owners, Stinne Møller Nordby, to find out if they might be interested in installing a City M air purifier with a carbon filter and a certified H14 HEPA filter. Camfil explained the benefits of the City M air purifier, which removes up to 99.995% of the particles in a room approximately every ten minutes. Furthermore, the City M air purifier is recommended by Asthma Allergy Nordic and is ECARF-certified.
ABOUT THE SPACE
  • Hørbart is part of an office environment, which is shared with other companies.
  • It is dependent on the central ventilation system.
  • Outdoor air pollution from traffic and pollen etc. enters the building.
  • Indoor air can be affected by emissions from building materials, furntiure, cleaning agents, copiers, as well as human activities, bacteria, and viruses.
THE SOLUTION
  • Camfil air quality sensor Air Image was set up in waiting room to measure air quality before and after installation of air purifier.
  • The plan suddenly changed as Hørbart unexpectedly (due to large amounts of rain and subsequent floods) experienced bad odour from the lavatories.
  • Camfil installed City M unit in restroom, and odour was quickly removed.
“I was a little skeptical atfirst, but I‘m very surprisedby how extremely effectivelythe bad smell was removed. We are really thrilled aboutthat. And we can actually feela difference in the air in ourwaiting room. It‘s difficultto describe, but the roomsmells different, in a way, cleaner. It‘s as if the air islighter. And the unit is veryquiet and does not disturb. We are very impressed that the City M air purifier has shown its efficiency in such a short time.
THE RESULT
  • Prior to installation, the Air Image had measured the particle concentration to 5 μg/m³ (corresponding to approx. 50 million particles/m³).
  • After installation of the City M, a significant reduction of particles as low as 0.7 μg/m³ (corresponding to approx. 6.4 million particles / m³) was observed within a short time.
  • The measurement itself shows how improving air quality is related to Hørbart‘s experiences of the positive air changes in the hearing centre.
