One of their main offices in the UK, Senator House is situated in a part of London that suffers from air pollution, frequent short-term spike events and long-term high concentration levels. Camfil approached the client to introduce them to the City air purifier range of air cleaners and air purifiers and to conduct a series of tests to help demonstrate the potential improvements to the air quality in various spaces throughout their London offices. After they conducted a range of air sample tests with a CityCheck, results showed that significant levels of fine particles were penetrating the building making the air difficult to breathe. The tests revealed that the air contained fine combustion particles and nitrogen dioxide.
Camfil recommended the installation of the CITY M air purifier in the company's main legal office where the air quality was poor. The legal office was also selected as the test case because one of its employees suffered from allergies and asthma. During the time the air purifier was used in this space, it significantly reduced the particles across the office by 50% and by 85% compared with the main reception area. Further enhanced performance would be achieved with multiple City M units. Camfil’s City Check air sample testing found a concentration of indoor-sourced formaldehyde at a level requiring action. City M filters remove this toxic pollutant along with nitrogen dioxide. When air pollution is inhaled, it has negative effects on staff health and work performance.
