There are many ways to save with quality air filtration solutions. Better air quality, less waste, and lower energy consumption and CO2 emissions, along with over £35,000 in savings on the existing filter installation.
This major bank is one of the world‘s largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small and middle market businesses and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management and other financial and risk-management products and services. Norland Managed Services are the facililties management provider for their 600,000 square foot office building in central London.
In December 2012 Norland Managed Services approached Camfil with a remit to reduce energy cost across the HVAC process at the facility. Initially, a life cycle cost report was published highlighting the potential savings by utilising compliant low-energy air filters within the air handling units. This proved extremely successful, demonstrating both energy savings and lower operational costs from improved air filter efficiency and reliability (i.e. fewer maintenance interventions).
A trial was agreed, and AHU 4 was the chosen air handling unit for the trial. The project scope covered replacement of the existing filter bank consisting of prefilter panels and rigid secondary filters with a single-stage Hi-Flo M7 bag filter compliant to the EN779:2012 standard, manufactured at Camfil’s facility in Haslingden, Lancashire. No modification to the framework was required.
The trial took place over a four-month period, with pressure and energy readings taken at specified times during the period.
