The world was not the same at the beginning of 2020, we met one of the biggest enemy of mankind, Coronavirus. The outbreak has left every one of us vulnerable and how it can change our lives forever. Along with the health conditions, the effects are visible on production, global supply chain, climate change, workplace situation, travel to name a few. Respiratory protection fights against COVID-19 in Sweden

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Camfil started designing and developing respiratory protection masks in Camfil Tech Center Trosa in Sweden to support the community and critical care staff. The initiative started with testing of face masks for Karolinska University Hospital and Region Stockholm to meet required safety standards. In less than five weeks, production was set up and the new product  CamProtect respiratory protection mask came into existence. With the launch of CamProtect, Camfil has proven its expertise in air filtration, product development and testing, and its commitment to people's wellbeing. For Camfil, People Matter 1st.


Camfil expands business in Sweden and Australia

With two acquisitions at the beginning of 2020, Camfil expands its market position in Australia and Sweden. Airepure Australia holds a robust position in the national air filtration industry and its addition to the Camfil Group will create a solid foundation for further growth in Asia Pacific. Airepure have offices in all the major cities in Australia including Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart with over 70 employees working in the Melbourne headquarter.

In the Nordics, Resema is now part of Camfil which is a family-owned company like ours and established in 1969 with two production units in Sweden. Resema has around 65 employees and 100 million SEK in annual turnover. The synergies between Camfil and Resema in terms of competence and products will allow us to create more value for our customers.


New chairman of the board at Camfil AB

After 50 years of various roles in Camfil, Jan Eric Larson handovers the role and responsibility of 'Chairman of the Board' to Alan O’Connell. Alan has been with Camfil for almost four decades and has worked in Europe, the US, and Asia in many different positions including group CEO and President.


Camfil Air Pollution Control in Arkansas, USA was hit by an EF-3 tornado

In March 2020, an EF-3 tornado damaged the Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC) manufacturing facility in Jonesboro, Arkansas and luckily there were no casualties. The team quickly restored the business to maintain customer delivery schedules after the Tornado. The dedication of the Camfil APC employees in Jonesboro and around the world is noteworthy and deserves much praise as they came out of the disaster stronger than ever.
