Expansion into a major company
1972-82

Heading for new shores

1972

Early on, Camfil recognised the signs of the times, thinking and acting in a visionary manner. This is because quality, energy efficiency and a long service life are the focus of the filter development – a novelty in the market. Gösta Larson established a new subsidiary each year from 1972 to 1976, building the companies from scratch and starting in Denmark. As a result of the growth, Camfil was in the position to advertise the customer benefit of how Camfil filters significantly reduce operating cost. An all-purpose feature, which still applies today!

1975

The global demand for the Hi-Flo bag filter steadily increased. The main production of the filter was still in America, and the long delivery times for the European market were unacceptable to the top management. A production facility for bag filters was built in Trosa. In addition to faster deliveries, it was now also possible to respond individually to frame dimensions, number of bags, bag depth and filter class.

1981

More and more companies wanted to use the energy-efficient bag filters from Camfil. Camfil responded by opening another production facility in Unterägeri, Switzerland. Trosa, Reinfeld and Unterägeri were the three production plants supplying the market with bag and Absolute filters.
