Centralised mist separators are used to extract coolant and oil mist from industrial machining processes. Thereby one or more machine tools are connected through ductwork with a central extraction system.
Today machining processes such as drilling, turning, milling and grinding are included in many industries. Depending on the application, these processes generate coolant or oil mists which have to be controlled before entering the ambient air.
For the extraction and exhaust air purification of large machinery or several machine groups, it is recommended to install centralised mist separators instead of many individual or several group extraction systems. Here the single machine tools are connected to centralised ductwork which transports the process exhaust air to a central separation system which is located on a separate floor or a plant room.
Centralised extraction systems do not require any space on the shop floor and furthermore, reduce the number of maintenance points to a minimum. Additionally, it ensures high process reliability through redundancy. By including a heat recovery system, the cleaned air can be returned to the production environment which helps to reduce energy costs.
Due to their modularity, Camfil´s coolant and oil mist separators are available in different sizes and can handle air volumes up to 70,000 m³/h (41,000 cfm). Also, the systems can be extended with the growth of production.
The product range contains different kinds of mist separators and filters elements to handle processes with emulsion, oil or MQL.
