Camfil strengthens its position in the Australian market by acquiring Airepure Australia Group, a leading national air filtration solutions provider.

Camfil is pleased to announce the acquisition of Airepure Australia Group, which includes the acquisition of FilterTech Australia. This acquisition will help strengthen Camfil’s position as a global leader in air filtration, offering innovative clean air solutions that benefit our customers across the industry in Australia and New Zealand. The addition of Airepure and FilterTech to the Camfil Group will create a solid foundation for further growth in Australia and serving our customers with world class filtration solutions.

The Airepure Australia Group holds a robust position in the national air filtration industry by providing unique, powerful and integrated air filtration solutions, ranging from basic HVAC filtration to high end HEPA/ULPA filtration, airborne containment technologies and NATA testing services. Airepure had been part of Elta Group UK since 2011 and works with the same principles of enhancing life through air. Airepure have offices or agents in all the major cities in Australia including Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart with over 70 employees working in the Melbourne headquarters. FilterTech further bolsters the business in Queensland with an office/manufacturing facility in the Gold Coast.

“Airepure and FilterTech have a strong offering to customers and are well-run operations with strong capabilities in key areas like testing services, R&D, engineering and customer service. We look forward to joining forces with their team of talented and competent people” said Alan O’Connell, President Asia Pacific at Camfil Group.

“The Airepure and FilterTech teams welcome this acquisition and the opportunity to combine the best of Airepure, FilterTech and Camfil’s people, products and custom engineered solutions to provide quality, purpose built clean air solutions for the Australian market. The businesses complement each other, and we look forward to embracing the wealth of opportunity ahead” said Roger Van Oosten – CEO

Market analysts are projecting an increase in indoor air pollution levels and rising cases of health issues related to airborne allergens across Australia. The Commonwealth Scientific Research Organization (CSIRO) estimates that the cost of poor indoor air quality in Australia may be as high as $12 billion per year. Together, Airepure, FilterTech and Camfil will continue to provide specialised solutions for applications requiring superior HVAC filtration, molecular contamination and air pollution control, that also improve worker and equipment productivity, benefit human health and the environment and minimise energy consumption.
