This pharmaceutical company and Camfil have been in collaboration for many years, and when Camfil launched a new and ground breaking H14 high temperature filter – Absolute D-Pyro – the pharmaceutical company wanted to test the filter in connection with the depyrogenation tunnels in one of their locations.

Designed to meet ISO Class 5 cleanroom requirements of zero emissions, D-Pyro offers a sealed airtight filter pack in a reinforced stainless-steel frame - free of any organic compound that could burn (no bisphenol A, phthalates or formaldehyde).

Absolute D-Pyro requires no baking or tempering - eliminating the need for cleaning, minimizing the downtime and contributing to a higher production yield.

Absolute D-Pyro also saves energy by eliminating the need to maintain a constant temperature during downtime, or when the depyrogenation tunnel is not in operation. The annual energy savings can be up to several thousand euros per tunnel.

PROCESS OVERVIEW  


The company in question manufactures various types of medicine, where depyrogenation tunnels are used for some of the production.

In order to guarantee patient safety, aseptic filling lines have some of the toughest cleanliness requirements on the planet. ISO Class 5 cleanroom conditions are required throughout the depyrogenation tunnels, where glass vials, ampoules and syringes are sterilized before they are aseptically filled.

For this, high-temperature HEPA filters are used, which are specially designed to protect processes at high temperatures. They meet the strictest requirements and maintain their integrity and rated performance values under extreme temperatures.

 The company wanted to use the best and most reliable high temperature filters for their depyrogenation tunnels. The filters for this particular process had to 1 meet the                    strict requirements for ISO class 5 cleanrooms
