1963

Camfil is founded in Trosa, Sweden, as a joint venture with Cambridge Filter Corporation in the United States.

1968

Camfil moves into a new factory building in Trosa, Sweden.

1969

A subsidiary is established in Switzerland.

1970

Camfil becomes the first air filtration company in Europe to invest in its own test rig.

1975

A production facility for bag filters is built in Trosa.

1983

The Larson family acquires Cambridge's shares, gaining full ownership of Camfil.

1988

Gösta Larson retires as CEO and passes the baton to his son, Jan Eric Larson.

1990

Camfil acquires Sofiltra in France from Saint Gobain. The number of employees increases from 600 to 1000, and turnover rises from 400 to 750 MSEK, thus doubling the size of Camfil.

1997

Camfil is part of the successful Pathfinder mission to Mars.

1999

Camfil has 12 production sites, 26 subsidiaries, and 41 agents in 54 countries—strategically clever with continuous economic growth!

2000

Camfil acquires Farr Company, expanding its global presence.

2001

Jan Eric Larson hands over to Alan O’Connell, who becomes the new CEO of Camfil.

2010

Camfil increases its focus and investment in geographical expansion for Asia/Pacific.

2011

Camfil goes on a roadshow through Europe, spreading the message of "Clean Air, A Human Right."

2012

Camfil opens a new technology centre in Trosa.

2013

Camfil celebrates its 50-year anniversary!

2014

Camfil acquires oil and mist collection experts, Handte Group, to expand its industrial dust, mist, and fume collection segment.

Camfil expands its market-leading position on the Iberian Peninsula through the acquisition of Servifiltro.

2019

Mark Simmons becomes CEO.

2020

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the CamProtect respiratory protection mask comes into existence. With the launch of CamProtect, Camfil proves its expertise in air filtration, product development, and testing, and demonstrates its commitment to people's wellbeing.

2025

Camfil continues its global expansion and innovation efforts.
